NORWICH - During a recent Chenango County Board of Supervisors meeting, the board honored and congratulated retiring county employees Lynn Kline and Evelyn Kirkland, recognizing their significant contributions to the county.

Lynn Kline retired after more than 35 years of service, beginning as a social welfare examiner in the Temporary Assistance Intake Unit in 1993. She then became a fraud investigator and, after a few years, was promoted to senior welfare examiner and examiner. In February 2022, Kline was promoted to principal social welfare examiner.

Evelyn Kirkland retired after more than 12 years of service, beginning as a part-time senior account clerk/typist in the treasurer's office. In the next few years, she became an account clerk/typist and was promoted to senior account clerk/typist in the Department of Social Services. In 2018, Kirkland became a disbursement clerk in the treasurer's office. One year later, she became an administrative assistant in the Department of Social Services and followed up to become their accounting supervisor.

The board extended their appreciation to Kline and Kirkland for their years of dedicated service to the residents of Chenango County.
