NORWICH — The ice skating rinks on Borden Avenue and in East Park in Norwich are anticipated to open to the public this week.
City of Norwich Youth Bureau Director Anthony Testani said the City of Norwich Department of Public Works (DPW) began putting water on the rinks last week, and they hope to have enough solid ice by the middle of this week for locals to skate.
"Hopefully over the next couple days it freezes nice and solid and we’ll be able to open it up mid-week [this] week," he said.
The skating rink at the Robert Mason Recreation Center on Borden Avenue will be open for use when Weiler Park is open, which is from dawn to 10 p.m. each day.
