OXFORD - The Oxford Memorial Library is hosting two exciting and educational events this month.
Adult Craft Night: Teacup Bird Feeders: Join us for a creative evening at the library on Thursday January 30th at 5:30 p.m., as we make teacup bird feeders at this month's Adult Craft Night. It's the perfect way to spread some cheer to our feathered friends this winter! Participants will craft suet bird feeders using either a teacup or a mug. If you have a chipped mug or a special teacup you'd like to repurpose, bring it along and transform it into a charming bird feeder. Don't worry if you don't have one— there will be cups available to choose from. This fun, hands-on activity is open to all adults.
Disaster Preparedness Training: Be Ready for Anything As severe weather events become more common, it’s crucial to be prepared. On Saturday January 25th at 11:00 a.m., the New York State Citizen Preparedness Corps will lead a training session at the Oxford Memorial Library to help residents learn how to effectively respond to disasters. This course will provide essential tips for handling both natural and man-made disasters, offering guidance on how to develop an emergency plan, stock up on supplies, and ensure the safety of your loved ones. By attending, you'll gain the tools and resources needed to respond to and recover from emergencies with confidence.
Both events are free to attend, so mark your calendars and join us for a night of crafting and day of learning. For more information visit Oxford Memorial Library on Facebook, www.oxfordmemoriallibrary.org, or call (607) 843-6146.
Library Closed: Please note the Oxford Memorial Library will be closed on Monday, January 20 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day and on Wednesday, January 29 for Chinese New Year.
