OXFORD – After meeting in non-league play to start the 2024-2025 season, the Oxford Blackhawks and the Unadilla Valley Storm girls basketball teams met again for a league contest at Oxford High School. Oxford won both matchups, including Wednesday’s 55-30 victory. Oxford improves to 7-3 on the season.

Both teams started out slow with pressure on both ends of the court. The girls were also physical with many jump balls throughout the game. Oxford found success early on with steals and multiple offensive rebounds to help them have an edge in this contest.

Oxford led 27-16 at the half, where UV broke up their once 10-point lead. However, the lead was built back up in the second half as the Blackhawks took control with Abby Denz laying down some three’s and Margaret Rovente and Taegan Manwarren picking up steals. Kora Johnson and Adrienne Hodge had good possession for the Storm’s offense to chip in a few buckets.
