Norwich Wrestlers Fall Short To Sus Valley

NORWICH – After competing in the Saratoga Invitational over the weekend, the Norwich Purple Tornado wrestling team returned home to face Sus Valley on Wednesday evening. Norwich came up just short in a 39-32 deficit.

Maverick Beckwith improved to 25-0 with his 10th pin of the season as he earned a 1:49 pin against Gabriel Perez at 131 pounds. Briley Beckwith and Jack Barnes both picked up wins by forfeit as Jadyn Carpenter pinned Elijah Newton in 3:09. Bryce Wellington and Ryan Evans both won by major decision in their respective weight classes.

Norwich will be competing in the 21st annual Eastern States Wrestling Classic over the weekend, hosted by Friends of Section 9 Wrestling.
