GREENE – It was a battle between the Greene Trojans and the Unatego Spartans at Greene High School on Wednesday night in a rematch from the 2024 MAC Championship game, only this time in regular league play. Both teams came into this matchup at 7-1 overall and 2-0 in the MAC. Greene secured a 45-36 victory to take full control of the league.

Greene was only at a deficit in the first quarter, where they were down 12-8. They shifted things around to take a 19-17 advantage at the break and they held this small-margin lead to end the third quarter (29-24). Greene held Unatego to five points in the second quarter and seven after halftime.

Greene showed strength at the free throw line throughout the final eight minutes of play as 14 of their total 16 points came at the line. Cali Knapp led the Trojans with making six free throws within the quarter and finished 7-for-8 overall.
