ONEONTA – On Thursday, the Unatego-UV-Franklin wrestling team defeated Oneonta 40-32.

Wyatt Meade continues his unbeaten streak as he won by a 12-0 major decision. He is now 25-0 on the season. Yanni Drapaniotis improved to 24-0 with a 1:35 pin.

Abdul-Jamil Zaggout picked up his 19th pin of the season with a 3:32 pin over Isaac Gray. Eighth grader Ahmet Zaggout had a quick :35 pin over Caden Shaver in the 138 weight class. Abdeen Zaggout improved to 25-1 with a :50 pin against Wyatt Jones.

Gavin Nordberg earned win number 111 of his high school career as the sophomore defeated Evan Waltz in a 1:39 pin. Nordberg achieved 100 wins on December 21, 2024. U-UV-F’s Caleb Wildenstein pinned Damien Savella in a 1:23 in the 215 weight class.

Unatego-UV-Franklin will be host the Dan Wickham Classic at Unatego High School on Saturday.
