NEW BERLIN – The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats girls basketball team picked up a big league win on the road against Unadilla Valley on Friday night in a 54-30 game. B-G remains behind Greene in the MAC standings with a 4-1 league record and a 7-3 record overall. UV dropped to 0-3 in the league and are 4-6 overall.
B-G built up a steady lead from the start, scoring 27 points within the first eight minutes with Peyton Umbra contributing with all her six points and Jayslin Henderson excelling with 13 points. B-G also had the most free-throw attempts in the first quarter, where they had success at the free-throw line throughout the contest, making 15 of 20 attempts for 75 percent shooting.
The Storm were led by Natalie Crandall and Shyla Roberts in the first quarter, contributing with the team’s six points, before picking up the pace before halftime. UV was held to single-digit scoring in the second half with the same efforts from Crandall and Roberts as well as Myriah Taylor and Adrienne Hodge in the final eight minutes.
