NEW BERLIN – After playing Harpursville on Tuesday, the Unadilla Valley Storm girls’ basketball team returned home to take on a tough Unatego team. UV fell 56-35 against the Spartans.

Unatego held a comfortable lead throughout the contest as UV’s best efforts came in the final eight minutes with a team-high 12 points, led by top scorer Natalie Crandall, dishing out seven of her 23 points. Crandall and Adrienne Hodge were the top contributors for the Storm in the first half and continued to be consistent in the second half as others attempted to help out.

However, UV could not stop Unatego’s Lizzy Craft, who showed strength in the first half and settled in to finish with 27 points. Harly Birdsall also stepped up for the Spartans in the second half with 15 of the team’s 22 points in the third quarter.
