SHERBURNE – Following the girls game, the Sherburne-Earlville Timberwolves boys basketball team hosted an unbeaten Cooperstown team in a non-league matchup. S-E fought hard in a 69-43 deficit against the Hawkeyes.

There were several ties in the first quarter with both teams starting off strong defensively. S-E was swarmed with Hawkeyes, but were able to find Brayden O’Hara inside. Garret Winton had room to drive in as well for the Timberwolves. O’Hara and Winton both had five points in the first half.

Cooperstown was settling in with a big 20-point lead before fouls got the best of them. S-E got within 14 points at the break, making four free-throws and baskets by Mike Behret, Isaac Porchea, and O’Hara.

S-E got within 14 points again in the third quarter, but the Hawkeyes rebuilt a big 21-point lead to enter the fourth quarter.
