NORWICH – The Norwich Purple Tornado girls basketball team hosted Seton Catholic for a Saturday matinee, where Norwich honored its seniors. Norwich also celebrated a big 69-25 win.

Congratulations to seniors Talia Bookamer, Emma Koerts, and Cally Richardson, who were honored prior to the game. The girls basketball program also recognized the senior cheerleaders; Maya Adoff, Janiah Miller, and Romina Borrazzo.

The Purple Tornado played an outstanding defense and were able to rebound the ball on missed free-throws, which allowed them to score off turnovers to build a big lead with quick, easy steals and pressure on the inbound pass.

Norwich had three leading scorers post 12 points or better with Emma Urgo leading the charge with 18 points off the bench with eight of the team’s 17 points in the fourth quarter. She also went four-for-four at the free-throw line.
