BAINBRIDGE – On Friday, the Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats girls basketball team hosted Oxford for a local matchup. B-G came away with a 47-25 victory.

The two teams had met for an additional matchup in December, where the Bobcats won that game by a score of 42-37. Only one of the wins counted for league record with all the MAC teams scheduled to play each other once.

B-G, who came out strong in the first half and had a strong finish against Walton/Downsville in their previous game, also had an impressive start against the Blackhawks. However, they slowed down in the second and fourth quarters but their defense worked hard, holding Oxford to single-digits throughout the contest.

Marissa Mayo led the Bobcats with 14 points with two threes and settled in with 10 points in the third quarter. She, along with Tori Suda, both finished with six defensive rebounds.

Jayslin Henderson posted a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds and added four steals. She also finished three-for-four at the free-throw line. Emma Kinter finished with eight points with the team’s six points in the fourth quarter.
