The Edmeston Free Library Hosting “Seed Swap”
Published: January 27th, 2025

EDMESTON - The Edmeston Free Library will host its first-ever Seed Swap event on Saturday, February 1, from 10 a.m. to noon at the Historic Rutherford House, located at 26 East Street.

The event invites community members to exchange seeds, share gardening tips, and connect with fellow gardening enthusiasts. Participants are encouraged to bring seeds from their gardens, including flowers, herbs, and vegetables, for swapping. Seeds should be no older than two years to ensure viability. Attendees should also bring small plastic baggies to take home new seeds.

"We are thrilled to host this unique event in our new space for our community," said Toni Zaleski, Director of the Edmeston Free Library. "The Seed Swap is a great way for people to share seeds, gardening tips, and connect with others who share a love for gardening."

The library’s gardening expert, Jo Salo, will be present throughout the event to provide advice and answer questions.
