STATEN ISLAND – Over the weekend, the Norwich Purple Tornado winter track team traveled to Staten Island’s Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex, home of the indoor state championships, to compete in the New York International Showcase. Norwich competed against many different teams across the nation including NY, PA, NJ, OH, DE, NC, MD, VA, NH, and against teams from Florida, Georgia, and even Canada as well.

Girls:

The Norwich girls 4x200 relay team of Ava Cirigliano, Bri Cirigliano, Tristan Monroe, and Layla Root came in 25th place in the Varsity division with a time of 2:03.80 while McKenzie Hagenbuch led the girls individually with a ninth place finish in the 800 meter run.
