SOUTH NEW BERLIN - The New Berlin Police and fire departments responded to a rollover accident on NYS Highway 8 in South New Berlin involving a US Express tractor-trailer on Tuesday.

According to police, the northbound vehicle, operated by 23-year-old Tony Mayfield of Chester, Virginia, lost control on a curve, left the roadway, and overturned. Police said Mayfield, the sole occupant, was treated on-site by South New Berlin FD/EMS and transported to Chenango Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

Police said the investigation determined adverse weather-related road conditions contributed to the crash. No citations were issued. NYS DOT and the South New Berlin Fire Department assisted with traffic control.
