SIDNEY – The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats girls basketball team was right back in action in another tough matchup, this time against Sidney. As expected, the two teams battled it out, where the Sabers came away with the one-point 44-43 victory.
B-G fought back in the fourth quarter, pushing through with 22 points, where Marissa Mayo scored 10 of her 15 points in those eight minutes alone. She also had help from Jalyn Winans and Peyton Umbra with some threes. However, the comeback fell short with Sidney limiting BG in the first half and holding them off from a potential game-winner.
Mayo led the Bobcats with a double-double with 12 rebounds, including nine of the Bobcats’ 24 defensive rebounds as Tori Suda had 10 rebounds, including seven defensive rebounds and had four assists.
Jalyn Winans followed with 14 points with two threes. Umbra and Jayslin Henderson both finished with five points each. Henderson also had six assists and five steals.
