EARLVILLE — The Earlville Opera House (EOH) will be hosting a special event at 6 p.m. on Valentine's Day, Friday, February 14.
"Our Valentine's day event, we just want to share the love up here at the Earlville Opera House, and we’ve put together kind of a multifaceted event where it’s not really centered on couples, we’re just saying you can come as a pair but you can also come as an individual to enjoy a lovely evening in our Arts Cafe," said EOH Executive Director Michelle Connelly.
Individuals and couples will enjoy a showing of the 1939 classic film "Made for Each Other," starring Jimmy Stewart and Carole Lombard. The film portrays a couple who get married after knowing each other for only one day, and follows their life together.
During the film, guests can also craft a heart-shaped box as a keepsake, overseen by artist instructor Dana Shiflett.
"While people are watching the movie they can create a memorable heart box. So we’ve got these wonderful boxes, we have a teaching artist that’s bringing some clay heart shaped things. So the instructor will just kind of oversee people designing and decorating their own box," said Connelly. "We’ve got paints and inks and beads and shells and countless other little crafting supplies that people can decorate their box with."
