BAINBRIDGE – The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats boys basketball team hosted Sidney for a tough MAC league matchup with both teams fighting for the fourth place spot to make the playoffs.
BG also honored its seniors prior to the game. Congratulations to Jaedan Walling, Michael Lipani, Timmy Kinter, and Declyn Marshfield.
Sidney spoiled B-G’s special night as they went on to win 60-51.
Both teams showed strength early on in trading threes and playing aggressively on defense. For B-G, Isaiah Hampton. Timmy Kinter, and Aidan Haynes were able to come away with multiple steals and rebounds under the basket, which helped the Bobcats take a brief lead in the first half, including a mini-run to end the first quarter.
Before halftime, both teams continued to go back-and-forth but it was B-G that took the 31-26 lead at the break with a big three from Cyrus Megale as the final shot of the half.
Unfortunately, the Bobcats struggled to start the third quarter, which allowed the Sabers to take the control they needed to come out on top overall. B-G also got into deep foul trouble, which sent Sidney to the line a handful of times within those eight minutes alone.
