GREENE - On Friday, February 7, at approximately 11:56 a.m., the New York State Police at Norwich responded to a crash involving multiple vehicles on State Route 12 near County Road 2 in the Town of Greene.
An initial investigation at the scene indicates that a tractor trailer was traveling southbound when the tractor trailer sideswiped a Ford Fusion that was waiting in a turning lane to turn left into Chenango Sales.
The tractor trailer continued into the northbound lane and struck a Dodge Ram 2500 head-on the tractor trailer then continued into the Chenango Sales lot striking multiple unoccupied new vehicles.
The driver of the Dodge Ram was transported to UHS Wilson Medical Center by ambulance for what are believed to be serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The passenger in the Dodge Ram was airlifted to Robert Packer Hospital for what appear to be serious but non-life threatening injures.
The driver of the Ford Fusion was transported to UHS Wilson Medical Center for what appear to be non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the tractor trailer was checked out by EMS but not transported to a local hospital.
The New York State Police Commercial Vehicle Unit responded to the scene.
NY Department of Environmental Conservation Spill Response was also contacted for oil and fuel that spilled.
The investigation is on-going.
