BAINBRIDGE – The Bainbridge-Guilford Bobcats girls basketball team hosted Deposit-Hancock on a special night. Prior to the game, the Bobcats honored their lone senior Chandler Benjamin as well as dedicate a banner to the late Vern Wallace, who passed away in 2024. Wallace was a Section IV hall of famer, who coached varsity wrestling, football, baseball, and girls modified and JV basketball.

B-G defeated the Eagles 59-42 to celebrate the night.

B-G had a strong start with 20 points in the first quarter, able to score off Deposit-Hancock’s turnovers and made three-of-five free throws. The Bobcats had a total of 15 attempts at the free throw line and made nine of them. BG had Deposit-Hancock’s total of 42 points scored after the third quarter before amping up with 17 more points in the final eight minutes, continuing a steady pace after a slow third quarter.

Jayslin Henderson led the Bobcats with 18 points with seven in the first quarter. Henderson and Peyton Umbra led team efforts in the third quarter as the Eagles made adjustments defensively. However, B-G got back to work in the fourth quarter.
