HARPURSVILLE – The Oxford Blackhawks girls basketball team traveled to Harpursville on Friday, where they snapped a six-game losing streak with a big 62-18 victory.
Oxford went right to work in the first half, taking a dominant 38-9 lead before continuing to hold a comfortable lead throughout the remainder of the contest. The Blackhawks looked strong from both ends of the court, limiting the Hornets to single-digits and keeping the momentum going on offense.
Margaret Rovente led the team with a double-double, posting 18 points and 12 rebounds and went four-for-five in three-point shooting. Rovente made all four threes in the dominating first half.
Aubrey Rickard followed with 13 points with eight points in the second half.
