NORWICH — The Chenango Youth Philanthropy Council (CYPC) is inviting the public to attend their Nonprofit Showcase from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 12 at the SUNY Morrisville Norwich Campus.

According to the CYPC, "This free event is designed to highlight the various nonprofit organizations in Chenango County and inform the public of what they do and how they may assist the community, as well as inform them about volunteer and employment opportunities that are available."

The CYPC is facilitated by The Place and made up of students from the Sherburne-Earlville, Norwich, and Unadilla Valley School Districts. Participating students from each school district meet separately throughout the year to learn about philanthropy and local nonprofits, complete volunteering hours, fundraise, and determine which community organizations will be the recipients of grant funding.
