BGA, Norwich, Oxford-Greene, And UV Indoor Teams Compete At Class Championships

ITHACA – The Section IV indoor track class championships were held at Cornell University over the weekend, featuring local athletes from Bainbridge-Guilford/Afton, Norwich, Oxford-Greene, and Unadilla Valley/GMU.

The results were formatted together with athletes divided by heat, so results may vary per class.

All local teams will be competing at the Finger Lakes Invite at SUNY Cortland on February 15 before sectionals and state qualifiers on February 23.

Maddie Ingham led the Bears in two events, where she came in second in the 1000 meter run with a time of 3:16.72 as the 4x200 relay team took third while the 4x400 team finished sixth. Ingham also came in sixth in the 600 meter run with a time of 1:52.24 with Laila Williams in 10th with a time of 1:54.36.

Makayla McCloud finished fourth in the 55 meter dash with a time of 7.62 seconds as Macey LaFever and Chandler Benjamin both ran the 3000 meters. LaFever took fifth with a time of 14:13.70 as Benjamin followed in sixth with a new best time of 15:17.11. Vanessa Brazee finished 11th in the 1500 meter run with a time of 6:08.58.

Olivia Hall, Clare Sullivan, and Tabitha Charette all competed in the 1500 meter race walk. Hall came in third with a time of 9:16.28 as Sullivan finished fifth with a time of 9:38.29 and Charette in seventh (10:04.21).
