WAVERLY – On Saturday, BGH-Sidney-Unatego, Norwich, and Oxford-Greene girls wrestling was well-represented at the Section IV Girls championships held at Waverly High School.

Congratulations to Oxford-Greene’s Lily Karn and BGH-Sidney-Unatego’s Bella Phelps for winning their respective weight classes to become sectional champions.

Other notable placements include BGH’s Hannah Giammateo in fourth place in the 94 weight class, Norwich’s Briley Beckwith in third place and BGH’s London Miller in fourth place in the 100 pound weight class.

BGH’s Dylan Casey finished fourth in the 107 weight class with Oxford-Greene’s Maggie Braman in fifth. Oxford-Greene’s Mira Gaylord took fifth in the 126 weight class as teammate Brooke Williams came in fifth in the 132 weight class. BGH’s Adrianna Tanner finished fifth in the 152 weight class.

Great efforts by Oxford-Greene’s Ahraya Whitt, Christina Greene, and Kelsey Loiselle, Norwich’s Mallorie Schuster, Emma Hughes, and Brianna Slater, as well as BGH’s Leelah Charles, and Lily Bagg.

BGH London Miller-fourth place; won by 1:30 pin, lost in :23 pin, won by 1:12 pin, lost to Beckwith in third place match by tech fall.
