HARPURSVILLE – After back-to-back games against Deposit-Hancock, the Unadilla Valley Storm girls’ basketball team traveled to Harpursville for the final round of the mini-MAC playoffs on Friday. UV suffered a tough 43-39 overtime loss to the Hornets, which concludes the 2024-25 season for both teams.
After being down 17-14 at the half, UV amped up pressure on defense, which allowed them to take control in the third quarter. With UV leading 27-21, entering the fourth quarter, Harpursville came away with their best offensive efforts of the night with the Storm able to keep up to force overtime, tied at 35.
From there, Harpursville outscored UV 8-4, holding the Storm to a three-pointer and a free throw within those final minutes to secure the victory.
Natalie Crandall finished the final game of her high school basketball career, leading the Storm with 16 points, going three-for-four from the free throw line and hitting a three-pointer in overtime.
