EOH Art Galleries are proud to present the opening round of visual artist exhibitions on Saturday, March 8, 1-3pm. This Series boasts the work of three incredibly talented artists representing diverse and unique forms of artistic media. Come join us in celebrating amazing original artwork and peek into our 1892 historic Landmark Theater too! Gallery openings and visits are always free and open to the public.
Highlighted in our East Gallery is Maureen Wallace with her exhibit “Vibrant Psyche”, Maureen specializes in using alcohol inks painted on either Yupo or glass. As an artist, her greatest joy is seeing others discover or rediscover their own creative selves. Featured in our West Gallery is AnnaMarie Kuiper with her exhibit “AMK’s Kaleidoscope”. AnnaMarie is a fiber artist working with materials and embroidery to create texture, expressive pieces, drawing inspiration from nature and personal stories. In our Arts Café, we have Smyrna artist Lee Ingraham with his exhibit “Fabricius Lepidoptera”. This is a series of photographs capturing moments combined with creative imagination which has perked Lee’s interest in composite photography while infusing imagination within reality. These exhibits are up until April 12. Many thanks to Golden Artist Colors for supporting our Visual Arts Program, and to Jewett’s Cheese House, Cottage Bakery, SWANK By Design, and Nazzitto’s Wine & Liquors for being our Gallery Opening hospitality sponsors.
On March 15, drop by to shop at the opening of our annual Artisan Gift Shop which showcases the best array of handmade artwork by regional artists. The Gift Shop is open during office hours and during EOH events, there is something for everyone, all priced to sell for your gifting or personal needs.
EOH is pleased to present the fun and shenanigans of Tumbleweed Gumbo in the Arts Café on Sunday, March 16, 2pm, just in time for St. Patrick’s Day! After their sell out performance last year, get ready for this all-time patron favorite event! Have you ever imagined yourself in an Irish Pub, joining in on those old rowdy songs about the Wild Rover and the Star of the County Down? Imagine no more! With Larry Jordan leading the charge, we’re gonna have a rollikin, swollikin bold old time belting the choruses of Bold O’Donoghue, Black Velvet Band, The Rising of the Moon and many more. Sure, you can just stomp your feet, clap your hands and hoot as Central New York legend Liz Fiddle shreds Irish, Scottish, Quebec and Cape Breton fiddle tunes between drinking songs (with a little help from Werner Koegst on bass, Steve Blais on bodhrán and button accordion), but we’ll make the singin’ easy for yez with lyric sheets and unconditional love for whatever comes outta yer gob! There are only a handful of tickets left for this fun and festive gig, so get yours now at $20 each or $18 for EOH members!
And, what would St. Patrick’s Day be without some treasure? Well, we have it! Get your tickets for our annual St. Pat’s Day Raffle Basket containing over $500 in value! Tickets will be drawn on March 16th at Tumbleweed Gumbo. Participants need not be in attendance to win, but the band will surely get you into the Saint Paddy Day spirit!
