Chenango County Grand Jury Charges Several Defendants With Drug Felonies

CHENANGO COUNTY - A Chenango County grand jury recently indicted several people with a number of felony charges, most of them involving the use of drugs.

John E. Williams was indicted on second-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (class A-II felony), third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (class B felony) for fentanyl, and third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (class B felony) for cocaine.

According to prosecutors, on November 7, 2024, at the Red Roof Inn on North Broad Street in the City of Norwich, Williams was allegedly found in possession of more than two ounces of methamphetamine, along with fentanyl and cocaine with intent to sell.

Jason R. Chase was indicted on third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (class B felony). The indictment alleges that on February 7, 2025, on State Highway 80 in the Town of Sherburne, Chase was found in possession of fentanyl with intent to sell.

Danielle A. Froelich was also indicted on third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (class B felony) for an incident on February 7, 2025, on State Highway 80 in the Town of Sherburne, where she allegedly possessed fentanyl with intent to sell.
