CHENANGO COUNTY — Retired Educators of New York (RENY) Chenango will be hosting their annual Pi Day celebration at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 14 at Angela's Restaurant in the North Norwich Plaza.
National Pi Day is an annual celebration of the mathematical constant pi, observed on March 14 as it matches the first three digits of pi: 3.14. The event was founded by Larry Shaw, a physicist at the San Francisco Exploratorium, in 1988.
This event is open to RENY members as well as retired teachers, administrators, teaching assistants, bus drivers, and anyone else who has worked in and retired from an educational organization.
Attendance is $10 for RENY Chenango members and $15 for non-members, which covers food, drinks, and door prizes. To register, contact RENY Chenango President Mary Ann Luciano at maryann.luciano@gmail.com.
In addition to enjoying delicious pizza, attendees will also have an informal meeting to discuss current events in the Department of Education, as well as topics such as Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, and how they impact retired educators.
