NORWICH ― The Chenango Arts Council held the opening reception for the 2025 Chenango Area Student Art (CASA) Show on Saturday, March 15.
High school students across Chenango County had the opportunity to display their artwork in the show, and winners were selected for the categories of drawing, painting, mixed media, photography, and 3D art.
"Every high school in Chenango County is invited for the teachers to submit artwork," explained Chenango Arts Council Administrative Assistant Mary Beth Miller. "There are five categories: drawing, painting, 3D art, mixed media, and photography. We have some artist judges and they award first, second, and third places."
In the drawing category, Hannah Binelli of Sherburne-Earlville took first place with her charcoal drawing. Sierra Uhlig of Sherburne-Earlville came in second with her drawing "Savior," and Norwich student Rhea Johnson came in third with "Parrot."
First place painting winner was Abigail Forsythe from Oxford with the piece "Starry Eyed." Sherburne-Earlville student Phiona Osborne's "Snug" came in second place, with Tucker Valentine of Sherburne-Earlville taking third with his piece "Car Painting."
The mixed media category saw Greene student Emmaline Harris take first place with "Sunshine." Darius O'Dell of Norwich came in second place with "Stump," and in third place was the piece "Repeat Pattern" by Norwich student Kayla LeBourveau.
