NORWICH — The Chenango Arts Council, located at 27 West Main Street in Norwich, will be hosting an opening reception for “Art Pieces: Eclectic Art by Eltimar Design” at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 26 in the Mariea Brown and Raymond Loft Galleries.

The event is free and open to the public and will include live music by The Idylls, treats donated by The Cottage Bakery, wine, and the eclectic mixed media art by Mary Elliot.

"The artist is named Mary Elliot and she does a lot of mixed media pieces. Like all kinds of things like mermaids and flowers and birds, so it’ll be a fun spring show," said Chenango Arts Council Administrative Assistant Mary Beth Miller. "She uses all kinds of supplies. She also uses a lot of typography for her art."

Elliot enjoys working in a variety of artistic mediums, from crafts to scrapbooking, card making, graphic design, photography, Zentangling, and interior decoration.

Miller said the artwork on display will be available for purchase.

"It’ll be a really nice event with refreshments and some live music and some great mixed media art, and the art will be for sale as well," said Miller.
