NORWICH — C.S. Miller Books will host an afternoon filled with literary and local history with Beat Poet Charles Plymell and Guests at 2 p.m., Saturday, April 12, in C.S. Miller Book Shop, located at 14 Adams Street, Norwich.
“The event will open with Norwich’s own poet laureate and beloved creative writing teacher, Richard Bernstein,” said C.S. Miller Books Owner Jason Miller.
“Bernstein, who studied under Beat icon Allen Ginsberg, has spent decades shaping young writers in the region,” said Miller. “Remarkably, he once shared a stage with Claude Pélieu, at the original Night Eagle café nearly thirty years ago, adding a poetic symmetry to this gathering.”
Miller said Plymell will follow Bernsteins opening and is known to many as a living legend of the counterculture and small press scene.
