OXFORD — Join Oxford Historian Vicky House for her presentation on Oxford's history, titled "A Walk Around the Park," at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 12 in the Oxford Memorial Library Community Room, located at 8 Fort Hill Park in Oxford.

The presentation focuses on the history of the Oxford Farmers' Market and Oxford businesses, and will highlight locations such as Lafayette Park, also known as Baldwin's Square, the Cole Memorial Fountain, and bandstand.

"In March when Vicky [House] and I were discussing the Women's History Month presentation she had mentioned wanting to do something highlighting the history of the Oxford Farmers' Market. I am always onboard with anything Vicky wants to talk about, and patrons enjoy her talks as well," explained Oxford Memorial Library Director Gillian Mulder. "'A Walk Around the Park' won't just be about the Oxford Farmers' Market; Vicky will talk about different businesses and people throughout Oxford's history. "

"A Walk Around the Park" will utilize old photographs and images to show attendees what Oxford looked like throughout history, including buildings that no longer exist, and people who "helped make Oxford a thriving community."
