NORWICH — The Norwich Theater Company, Inc. (NTCI) will be holding auditions for their annual A Toast to Broadway fundraiser from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 13 and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 14 in the Martin W. Kappel Theater at the Chenango Arts Council, located at 27 West Main Street in Norwich.
NTCI is looking for six female and six male performers over the age of 18 to perform at the annual fundraiser, which is a cabaret-style performance featuring a variety of Broadway songs from various shows.
Norwich Theater Company President Marty Kuhn said the show is an annual fundraiser for the company, and includes a cash bar, hors d'oeuvres, desserts, raffles, and a complimentary champagne toast.
"It’s a cabaret style, so it's not a stage show. The performers are right in the audience spending time with them when they’re performing. There's a little area that we can go to so they can see everyone, but we do go into the audience and sit with them, and it's really a fun night," said Kuhn.
To audition, performers must come prepared with a Broadway song of their choice to sing with a backing track. They can bring their own backing track, or the NTCI will be able to provide one for most songs.
If someone would like to audition for the show but can't make the scheduled audition times, email Kuhn at marty@norwichtheatercompany.org to schedule a different audition time.
