Greene Baseball Comes Up Short Vs Sidney In Extras

SIDNEY – After a tough game against Unatego/Franklin, the Greene Trojans baseball team headed to play Sidney on Monday afternoon. The Trojans continued to battle and tied the game up at seven in the seventh inning, but fell 8-7 in nine innings.

Sidney got on the board first with two runs before Greene answered back in the second to cut the deficit to one. Parker Flanagan led the inning off with a home run to left field on the sixth pitch he saw in a 3-2 count.

Flanagan went back on the mound with a clean second inning before Sidney fought back with a three-run third.

Down 5-1, Greene scored four runs in the fifth inning to tie the game at five. Tucker Phillips drew a lead-off walk, Cooper Flanagan singled to left as Carter Williamson would pinch run for Phillips and advanced to third. Jackson Roth walked to load the bases before Cooper Davis and Lincoln Youngs both walked to drive in runs. An error tied the game at five.
