CHENANGO COUNTY — The Chenango Arts Council has begun their annual appeal campaign soliciting donations to help support their programming.
Individuals are invited to donate what they can to support the Chenango Arts Council's ability to provide quality programs at affordable prices.
"It is just whatever amount people are comfortable with, and the funds go to support things like keeping our ticket prices low, and the free events we like to do. Movies, gallery openings and exhibits are always free, and those are always a fun time. We always have live music and refreshments and things like that," explained Chenango Arts Council Administrative Assistant Mary Beth Miller. "They help keep workshop ticket prices low. They help us offer the community continuous fun and enriching programming and keep those prices low, and when possible we love to offer things for free."
Miller said donations can be made to support their programming as a whole, or to fund specific programs such as the Lucy Funke Scholarship, which is awarded annually to two high school seniors pursuing college degrees in the arts, or the Grants for Teachers program, which provides grants up to $500 to Chenango County teachers looking to implement the arts in their classrooms.
