ONEONTA – The Norwich Purple Tornado baseball team traveled to Oneonta on Monday evening to begin a three-game set against their longtime rivals. Norwich fell 20-3 against a hot 6-1 Yellow Jackets team, who they will return home to face on Wednesday.
Oneonta took an early 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first before Norwich answered back with two runs in the top of the second. Hunter Coombs doubled to start the inning while Noah Eddy drew a walk. Coombs went to third on a balk by the pitcher and scored on Connor White’s groundout. Eddy came in to score on Michael Brunick’s RBI double to left field.
