LIVINGSTON MANOR – After rain pushed the tournament from Saturday to Sunday, it gave the Harpursville/Afton Crimson Hornets baseball team more time to prepare for the Livingston Manor tournament. After picking up their first win of the season against Delhi, the Crimson Hornets won the two games played on Sunday to win the tournament. Catcher/infielder Matt Carman was named tournament MVP.
Game 1:
H/A 12- Livingston Manor/Roscoe 0
After shutting out the Bulldogs in league play, the Harpursville/Afton Crimson Hornets shut out the Wildcats with a big 12-0 victory. The Crimson Hornets’ Davin Warren pitched a no-hitter through four innings played, only allowing two walks, a hit by pitch, and a base runner to reach on an error.
Harpursville/Afton got on the board early in the first and extended their lead big time with five runs in the third inning. The offense at the plate was sparked by Matt Carman’s RBI triple, Jayden Deleon and Ryan Wright both driving in three runs on the day, and RBIs from Cooper Warren and Jacob Rueffer.
Cooper Warren also stole three bases while Deleon and Davin Warren stole two bases in the win.
