UV/GMU Track Competes At Cooperstown’s Don Howard Invitational

COOPERSTOWN – On Saturday, the Unadilla Valley/GMU track teams competed at Cooperstown’s Don Howard Invitational. The Storm girls took sixth out of 14 teams with Cobleskill-Richmondville winning the overall meet. The Storm boys finished third behind leader Cobleskill-Richmondville and Cooperstown.

Girls:

The Storm’s 4x100 and 4x800 relay teams took the victories with Addison Marinelli, Madison Dix, Molly Gorrell, and Natalya Schrag achieving the win in the 4x800 with a time of 11:15.64. The 4x100 team finished first with the fastest time of 54.98 seconds.

Gracie Gorrell led the Storm girls individually with a first place finish in the 200 meter dash with a top time of 27.70 seconds. She also took second in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:04.62, behind the leader’s 1:03.95.

Mackenzie Lindholm finished sixth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 14.46 seconds and earned an eighth place finish in the 200 meter dash with a new best time of 30.51 seconds. Lindholm also jumped to a 12th place finish in the long jump with a new best jump of 12 feet, three and a half inches.

Noelle Fernandez-Naughton jumped in both the long and triple jumps. She took fifth in the long jump with a jump of 13 feet, three inches while she finished eighth in the triple jump (27-8.50).
