Norwich community recognizes Memorial Day

NORWICH - The Norwich community held a Memorial Day Parade and services led by the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars on Monday, May 26, to honor deceased U.S. military service members.

This year’s program included a guest speaker, a special tribute to deceased veterans of all wars, and a presentation of wreaths by personnel from veteran and civic organizations to honor deceased service members. The guest speaker was retired United States Air Force. Lt. Colonel Mary (Maggie) M. O’Loughlin. The Master of Ceremonies was Frank B. Revoir, American Legion Post 189 Chaplain. The National Anthem was sung by members of the Norwich High School Choral Group. The Pledge of Allegiance was led by scouts: Scouting America, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and Brownies (Photos by Tyler Murphy)
