NORWICH – Nora K. Sheldon, 44, of Schenectady, died peacefully Thursday afternoon, Jan. 17, 2008 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Norwich, she is the daughter of Roger Shedd of Smyrna and the late Minnie E. (Rickard) Shedd. Nora was employed as a Service Rep. for Taco Bell in Rotterdam. Prior to that, she was employed for 8 years for Hannaford Supermarkets and Bradleys and Caldors Department Stores in Schenectady. Nora was a member of the Happy Foursome Bowling League and Bedrock Inn Bowling League at Towne Bowling Academy in Rotterdam. She enjoyed crafts, crochet and fishing.
Besides her father, Nora is survived by her husband Alan M. Sheldon whom she married June 23, 1990; three sons Steven Shedd of Schenectady, Matthew Shedd of Smyrna and Jason Dogherty (Bernadette) of North Carolina, three brothers Ralph Shedd of Sherburne, Bruce Shedd and Charlie Shedd both of Smryna, two sisters Betty Lewinski and Cindy Hart both of Schenectady, beloved aunt of Sarah Hart of Schenectady; she is also survived by seven grandchildren, Alan Shedd, Julianna Shedd, Matthew Shedd Jr., Nicole Shedd, Hailey Shedd, Howard Shedd and Trina Dogherty as well as several beloved in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Bond Funeral Home Broadway and Guilderland Avenue Schenectady. Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling hours will be Monday evening 6 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Internment will be in Parkview Cemetery in Schenectady.
