NORWICH – Geoffrey William Powell, 15, a 9th grade student at Norwich High School, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, in the Upstate Medical Center of Syracuse after a very brief illness.
Geoff was born in Oneonta in December of 1992, the son of Robert Osborne and Joanne Albright. He attended grade school in Oxford and had recently begun the 9th grade at Norwich High School. Known as a “social bug,” he was a joyful and energetic youngster who lit up any room he walked into and touched everyone's heart. He was great with kids and dearly loved all animals.
Geoff is survived by his mom and dad, Robert Osborne and Joanne “Jodi” Albright of Norwich; his aunts and uncles: John and Dawn Welch, Erik and Tammy Albright of South Plymouth, and Bonnie Albright of Durham, NC; by several cousins, and his beloved cat, Misty. He was predeceased by his uncle, Brad Albright, and his grandmother, Ann Kruger.
Funeral services for Geoff will be held at noon on Saturday from the Canasawacta Valley Free Methodist Church, with Rev. Neil Bendixen officiating. Interment will be at a later date in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the CVFM Church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the service at noon.
