NORWICH – Gary Derouchie, 51, of Norwich, passed away Monday, Feb. 18, 2008, at his home, surrounded by his wife and sons.
Born in Malone in August of 1956, Gary was the son of William A. and Catherine (McCaffrey) Derouchie. He graduated from Franklin Academy High School in 1973 and furthered his education by attending Paul Smith’s College for Restaurant/Hotel Management. Gary worked first for Sunmount Developmental Center in Tupper Lake and later at Valley Ridge Developmental Center in Norwich. He enjoyed writing poetry and reading.
In February of 1988, Gary married Kim Brainerd. He is survived by his wife, Kim; his sons, Sam Brainerd and Joshua Derouchie; his brother William Derouchie and wife Dawn of Michigan; and his sister, Mabel Derouchie Mills and husband William of Chataugay. He is also survived by nieces and nephews, and was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Maynard and Melvin Derouchie.
Private funeral services will be held at the convenience of Gary’s family.
