Alfred Shaver


NORWICH – Mr. Alfred P. (Corky) Shaver, 69, of Beckville, Texas, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, March 6, 2008 at Good Shepherd Medical Center in Longview Texas.
Corky formerly a resident of Norwich was born on Oct. 29, 1938 in Livingston Manor, the son of Evelyn and Lloyd Shaver.
Corky was a student of the Norwich city school district. Corky was a welder, electrician, builder and worked in mechanical maintenance his entire life. Corky enjoyed motorcycles, eagles, the outdoors and all his family and friends.
Corky is survived by his wife Beverly H. Shaver of Beckville, Texas, (formerly of Mt. Upton). His sons: Lloyd Shaver and wife Denise of Norwich, Robert Shaver and Joan of Portland, Maine, Adam Shaver and Bill of Utica, Donnie Shaver of Houston, Texas, William Shaver (Jacob) and Crystal of Cheyenne, Wyo. His daughters: Kandy Blair and husband David of Smyrna, Katrina Shaver and Rick of Houston, Texas, Kristina Vestal and husband John of Hull, Texas, Jacqueline Carlisto and husband Danny of Houston, Texas. His stepchildren: Amy Keller and husband Jeff of Tatum, Texas, Susan Jaquett and husband Billy Joe of Hubert, N.C., Arnold Hartwell (Buddy) of Beckville, Texas, Roberta Collinsworth and husband Kevin of Carthage, Texas, Jeff Hoffman and wife Robyn of Leander, Texas. Also surviving are 26 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Brothers: Lloyd Shaver of Burnett, Texas, Hank Edwards of Norwich, John Edwards of McDonough. Close Family friends: The Prices of Norwich.
Rev. Elbert Jones of Carthage, Texas  will be officiating the memorial services that are still pending. Per Corky’s request, there will be no viewing.
