SUMMERSVILLE, WV: Charles Hall Holmes, 49, of Broad St., passed away Feb. 25, 2008.
He was born Aug. 11, 1958 in Syracuse, a son of Robert W., Sr. and Florence (Fellows) Holmes. A resident of the Morrisville area in his youth, he was a graduate of Morrisville schools. Charles moved to Maryland where he worked for Davis Landscaping and Green Gardens Landscaping for several years. He later moved to West Virginia where he was a miner for Elite Coal Services. Charles’ hobbies included model cars and trains, and he loved hunting. He also enjoyed working on cars with his son.
Surviving is his wife, Debbie; his mother, Mrs. Richard (Florence) Nichols of Cazenovia; three sons, Chad, Charles and Aaron Holmes of WV; a daughter, Danielle Holmes of North Norwich; a step-son, Dennis Metz of WV; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Robert W., Jr. and Deborah Holmes of Williamstown; Michael Holmes of Pitcher; two step-brothers, Dwight and Dale Nichols of Cazenovia; a step-sister, Melissa Nichols of Cazenovia; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father and a son, Darrick.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 31 Cedar St., Morrisville, followed by interment in the Morrisville Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home from noon until 2 p.m. Friday prior to the service.
