Elizabeth Ann Hughston Bradt


McDONOUGH – Elizabeth Ann Hughston Bradt, 65, died March 30 at her home in Zephyrhills, Florida. She was born in Bainbridge, November 12, 1942. She moved to Florida from McDonough in 1991.
She was a Registered Professional Nurse since 1966. She was employed at Valley View Manor Nursing Home and Chenango Memorial Hospital prior to moving to Florida. In Florida she was employed at Zephyr Haven Nursing Center as Director of Education/ADON for ten years and as a CNA educator after being diagnosed with cancer. She was an EMT/Volunteer Firefighter while living in McDonough and served as an officer in the Bradt Hollow Gun Club.
She is predeceased by her parents Emeline and Robert Hughston, Sr. and her brother Robert Hughston, Jr. She is survived by her children Renee Morton, Zephyrhills, Fla., Heather Bradt and Tobi Moore of Oxford, and Warren Bradt, Jr. of Oxford; six grandchildren: Melissa, Dezeray, Cheyanne and Zane Moore of Oxford; Kayli and Kodi Morton of Zephyrhills, Fla.; friend Warren “Slivers” Bradt, Sr. of Zephyrhills, Fla.; and sister Nancylee and Buster Gridley of Webster, Fla. Also nieces and their families: Audrey and Ed Bice and their sons Jonathon Bice of Zephyrhills, Fla., Robbie Bice, U.S. Army, and Elliot Hughston, U.S. Army; Laura and Gary Beck and son Justin Beck of Mount Dora, Fla.; Carleen and Martin O’Sullivan and children Colin, Sara and Molly of High Springs, Fla.; Lois and Ron Walsh and children Nathaniel and Jessica Walsh of Chipley, Fla.; and nephew Dr. Gary and Alya Gridley and children Leila and Kasey of Seattle, Washington; two stepchildren, Randy Cooper of Oxford, and Debbie Thompson of Plymouth.
Ann loved the outdoors, fishing and hunting, but spent most of her quality time with her family and ensuring compassionate, expert and loving care to her patients.
A memorial service will be held at the Zephyr Haven Nursing home on April 7, at 2 p.m. A funeral will be held Sunday April 20 at St. Elizabeth Church in Zephyrhills. Memorial contributions may be made to the McDonough Fire Department.
