HAMILTON – Kenneth D. Upham, 90, of West Lake Rd., passed away Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2006 at Community Memorial Hospital, Hamilton.
Born Sept. 14, 1915 on his family farm in Lebanon, he was a son of Floyd and Ora Brimmer Upham. He was a graduate of Georgetown High School in 1934 and Morrisville Agricultural and Technical College in 1937. On Nov. 23, 1939, Ken was married to Helen Catlin in Hamilton. She predeceased him on May 7, 1998. Ken lived most of his life on the farm where he was born, and was a self-employed dairy farmer until he retired from farming in 1972. Moving to Hamilton later that year, he worked at Colgate University in the Buildings and Grounds Department until he retired in 1984.
Mr. Upham was a member of the Lebanon Federated Church his entire life where he served on several church boards and was an honorary deacon. He was a member and Past Master of the F&AM Lodge #726 in Georgetown.
Surviving are a sister-in-law, Lucia Upham of Hamilton; a niece and her husband, Judie and M. Dereck Wilson of Earlville; a great niece, Michele Bailey of Earlville; a great-grandniece, Ashley Bailey of Earlville; two great-grandnephews, Michael Dereck Wilson, Jr. and Logan Bailey, both of Earlville. A great nephew, Michael Wilson predeceased him on June 4, 1994.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday from the Lebanon Federated Church, followed by interment in the Hillside Cemetery, Georgetown.
Friends are invited to call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 3 Preston St., Earlville on Friday from 7-9 p.m.
