NEW BERLIN – Robert Rene Hoag Sr., 83-years-old, of New Berlin, passed away Thursday, May 22, 2008 at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City.
Robert was born December 12, 1924 in New Berlin, the son of Rene and Florence (Button) Hoag. On May 6, 1978, he married Patricia Distler, who survives.
Robert grew up in New Berlin and attended New Berlin Central School. He was a retired employee of IL Richer Company and on the cradle roll at the First Baptist Church in New Berlin. He was also a member of the Lake Street Lane’s Men’s League.
Aside from his wife Patricia, Robert is survived by two sons, Robert and Marcia Hoag, and Mark Hoag, all of New Berlin. He is also survived by his grandchildren Tony, Rodney and Mark R. Hoag, all of New Berlin, and Jennifer (Hoag) Obert of Virginia, as well as and his great grandchildren: David and Alissia Obert, Chad Hoag-Shipman, Skyler Chase and Zackary Foster. He was predeceased by his parents and one brother, William Hoag, and two Grandsons – Jeremy & Scott Hoag
Funeral services for Robert will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, May 25, 2008 at the Dakin Funeral Home LP, New Berlin, with Reverend Charles Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, New Berlin.
Memorial donations may be made to the New Berlin Emergency Squad, New Berlin, NY.
