SOUTH PLYMOUTH – Sharon L. Auchmoody Westcott of South Plymouth, loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at the Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital in Syracuse.
Sharon was born in June of 1962 in Valhalla, the daughter of Robert and Harriet Jandrow Auchmoody. At an early age she moved with her family to the Chenango County area where she attended both the Otselic schools and Norwich high school from which she graduated. Following her graduation, Sharon entered the United States Army serving her country until 1982. She then entered SUNY Morrisville where she obtained her associate’s degree and was studying for her bachelor’s degree in Dairy Management.
Sharon loved being with her family and sharing her wisdom. She also enjoyed being outdoors and working on the farm. She will be missed by all that knew and loved her.
On June 25, 1983 in Smyrna, she married Larry Westcott.
Sharon is survived by her husband Larry of South Plymouth; her children, Alisa (Paul) Kuntz of Delphi Falls, Jesse (Carla) Westcott of Plymouth, Dorothy Meeker/Westcott and husband Erin of Norwich and her youngest daughter Tanya Westcott of Delphi Falls. Also surviving are her sisters Charlotte Catalino of Cincinnatus and Marjorie Herbert of Brooklyn; her brother Warren (Bonnie) Auchmoody of Marathon and her grandchildren Zharrianna and Samuel Westcott of Plymouth. Many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews as well as many other family members also survive.
Sharon was predeceased by her sons Ulysses “Sam” and Richard Westcott in 1992, her mother Harriet Auchmoody Card, her father Robert Auchmoody her step-father William Card, and her brothers Walter Auchmoody and David Hamsley.
The funeral service for Sharon will be held on Tuesday at noon from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Jeremy Stopford will officiate. Interment will be at the convenience of the family in the Maple Grove Cemetery of South Otselic.
Friends may call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at noon.
