NORWICH - Gary Lee Waterman, 54, of Norwich, passed away Aug. 2, 2006, following a drowning accident at Jeffrey’s Pond.
The son of Vanness and Charlotte Ann (Wilcox) Waterman, Gary was born in San Antonio, Texas, on Sept. 14, 1951. He spent his first 16 years in Texas, then moved at the age of 16 to Richfield Springs. During the last 20 years, he had resided in Norwich and had worked for the CWS, Norwich Shoe Company, Kehoe Furniture, and the Chenango County Recycling Center in North Norwich. He also enjoyed doing small engine work at home. On March 3, 1990, in Norwich, he married Mary Ann Frink.
Gary is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Waterman of Norwich; his children, Randy Waterman of Lisle, Vanessa Lowe of Lisle, Bambi Waterman of Endicott, and Kyle Levix of Beaver Meadow. He is also survived by step-children, Terry Griffin (Eric Bartlett), Russell Button (Manda Jackson), Glorianna Boyer and husband Glenn of Pa., Ellen Smith and husband Russell, Virginia Towndrow and husband Mike of Oxford; by several grandchildren and great grandchildren; by his sister Patty, and by two brothers, Vanlee and Randy Waterman.
Funeral services for Gary will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Sunday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, Norwich. The Rev. Jeremy Stopford, Pastor of the Beaver Meadow Christian Church, will officiate. Interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery will be private at a later date. Friends are invited to call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until the service at 1:30 p.m.
