GREENE – Arlene Maltzan, 85, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 25, 2008, at her home.
She was born on June 10, 1922, daughter of the late, Hiram and Florence Stanton. She was also predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Edward Maltzan; and by four sisters, Beatrice Bomboy, Rena Gould, Reva Cevasco, Pearl Pratt. She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Julia and Richard White, Greene, Patricia VanAlstyne, Albany; five grandchildren, Deborah and Jeffrey Markham, Mark White, Brian White, Lynnette White, Tameka VanAlstyne; two great-grandchildren, Nicholas and Gabriella Markham; two brothers-in-law, Robert and Ruby Maltzan, Lebanon, Henry Maltzan, Columbus; many nieces and nephews.
After World War II, Arlene and her husband, Ed, bought a house in Sherburne where they raised their family. In 1979, Arlene and Ed moved to Greene. She attended Berean Bible Church.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Root Funeral Home, 23 N. Chenango St., Greene, N.Y. 13778.
Friends of the family may call Thursday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Root Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sylvan Lawn Cemetery, Greene.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chenango County, 21 Hayes St., Norwich, N.Y 13815.
